Demand for pediatricians is growing in Kirov Oblast.

The labor market for pediatricians in Kirov Oblast continues to change: employers expect specialists to have not only professional knowledge but also well-developed communication skills. According to hh.ru, 41% of vacancies for pediatric doctors in the region today require work experience of 3 years or more. At the same time, 59% of postings are willing to consider young doctors.

Employers prioritize confident patient management, work with medical documentation, and deep knowledge of pediatrics. However, vacancy descriptions increasingly emphasize the importance of soft skills: the ability to interact with colleagues, build trusting communication with parents and young patients, and work in a team. Among the most in-demand personal qualities are responsibility, meticulousness, attentiveness, punctuality, and empathy.

Due to staff shortages (in the Volga Federal District there are currently only 1.5 resumes per vacancy compared with a norm of 4), employers are expanding employment options. Thus, 8.6% of pediatric vacancies in 2025 offered part-time employment (the possibility of working in several clinics or taking on side jobs). Over five years the number of such offers has grown 2.3 times. The number of rotational vacancies increased 2.7 times, although their share remains small (about 0.3%). In addition, 1% of advertisements provide a remote work format, which is eight times more than in 2020, linked to the development of telemedicine.

From January to October 2025 more than 1.2 thousand vacancies for pediatricians were opened in the Volga Federal District. Tatarstan led in the number of offers (19%), followed by Samara Oblast (16%), Bashkortostan (15%), Nizhny Novgorod Oblast (9%), and Perm Krai (8%). Kirov Oblast accounted for 6% of offers, about 70 vacancies.

Salary offers for pediatricians have risen noticeably in recent years. In Kirov Oblast the median salary increased by 113% — from 42.3 thousand rubles in 2020 to 90 thousand rubles in 2025. In terms of growth rates the region is surpassed only by a few territories of the Volga Federal District: in Saratov Oblast the median rose 2.4 times, in Orenburg — 2.3 times. In Tatarstan — 2.2 times, in Perm Krai and Udmurtia — 2 times. In Nizhny Novgorod and Ulyanovsk Oblasts the growth was 1.9 times, in Samara — 1.8 times, and in Bashkortostan — 1.6 times.

In 2025 median salaries for pediatricians in the Volga Federal District regions were distributed as follows: Saratov Oblast — 91 thousand rubles, Perm Krai — 90.5 thousand, Kirov and Orenburg Oblasts — 90 thousand each, Udmurt Republic — 90 thousand, Tatarstan — 88.6 thousand, Nizhny Novgorod Oblast — 87.5 thousand, Ulyanovsk — 85 thousand, Samara — 80 thousand, Republic of Bashkortostan — 70 thousand.
