Winter in Kirov Oblast may be warm again.

      According to the forecast maps, air temperatures over most of Russia will be above normal. The map shows that in Kirov Oblast the temperature anomaly is expected to be at +2…+3, which points to the likelihood of a mild winter.

      Recall that on August 17 we already wrote that the first forecast also indicated a warm scenario. At that time meteorologists noted that a positive temperature anomaly was observed across almost the entire territory of Russia.

      Interestingly, a similar situation was observed last year as well: in October 2024 amateur meteorologists also predicted a warm winter — the forecast ultimately came true. In January of this year the leading specialist of the Phobos weather centre, Evgeny Tishkovets, stated that “there will be no real winter,” and average temperatures in a number of regions exceeded the norm by 4–9 degrees. In Kirov Oblast in early January the temperature rose to +1, and February turned out to be abnormally warm.

      Forecasters and amateur meteorologists emphasize that the forecasts will still be refined; however, the likelihood of a repeat mild winter in the region now looks high.
