In Vyatskie Polyany, the prosecutor's office helped a 71-year-old local resident receive compensation for moral damages following the death of her husband in a traffic accident. The owner of the vehicle voluntarily paid the woman 300,000 rubles without waiting for a court decision.
The accident occurred on January 12, 2026, near house No. 27 on Vaganova Street. The driver of the JAC vehicle hit a man who was crossing the road at an improper place. The pensioner sustained fatal injuries.
As a result of the procedural check, no signs of a crime were found in the driver's actions. An expert examination showed that at the time of the accident, the motorist technically could not have prevented the collision with the pedestrian.
Despite this, the Vyatskie Polyany inter-district prosecutor's office decided to protect the rights of the 71-year-old widow. Considering her age and other objective circumstances, the prosecutor filed a lawsuit in court to recover moral damages from the vehicle owner.
Before the case was heard, the defendant voluntarily complied with the prosecutor's demands and transferred 300,000 rubles to the pensioner.
After that, the lawsuit was terminated.
