A resident of Nema transferred 245 thousand for an all-terrain vehicle and did not wait for either the equipment or the seller.
A resident of the village of Nema approached the intermunicipal department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia "Kilmizsky." The 62-year-old man told the police that during the May holidays, he decided to purchase an all-terrain vehicle of the type "Karakat."
He found an advertisement for the sale of snow and swamp vehicles on the internet. After selecting a suitable option, the buyer contacted the seller. During the discussion of the details of the deal, he was sent a sales contract and a bank account number for payment.
Next, according to the applicant, there was an offer he could not refuse. The seller informed him of a promotion: if he paid the full price of the all-terrain vehicle upfront, the delivery would be at the company's expense. The man agreed and transferred 245,000 rubles.
After receiving the money, the seller explained that the all-terrain vehicle would undergo maintenance and would be delivered to Nema within 14 days. A few days later, to provide reassurance, he sent a photo: the "Karakat" was already loaded onto a car transporter.
When the delivery deadline passed, the resident of Nema tried to contact the seller. However, all attempts were unsuccessful.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding this matter, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Kirov region reported. An investigation is underway.
The agency warns: do not transfer money to strangers before receiving the goods. Use well-known platforms with a positive reputation and secure payment methods — for example, the "Safe Transaction" option, where funds are blocked until the receipt of the purchase is confirmed.
