In Kirov, a plumber fell from a ladder.

      An accident occurred during the installation of a sewage riser. A plumber from the company fell from a ladder and was injured. Initially, the medical report assessed the severity of the injury as mild — in such cases, the investigation is conducted by a commission from the employer. However, after a re-examination, the doctors reclassified the injury: it was deemed severe. During the inspection by the State Labor Inspectorate, the causes of the incident were clarified: the ladder was not secured — it lacked upper hooks, and a colleague of the injured worker, who was supposed to hold the ladder from below, was assisting the plumber with holding the pipe and temporarily let go of the structure — as a result, the ladder lost stability and fell along with the worker. According to A. D. Loginov, the deputy head of the State Labor Inspectorate, the organization has approved a safety instruction for working with ladders and step ladders, but the disregard for its requirements by the workers and the lack of control from the management led to the accident. After the investigation is completed, the employer is required to conduct an unscheduled briefing with the employees.
