In the industry list of the Russian Book Union (RKS), biographical publications dedicated to the poet Vladimir Vysotsky and the writer Mikhail Bulgakov have appeared. As reported by the newspaper "Kommersant," this refers to the book by Vladimir Novikov "Vysotsky: I Have Reasons to Justify Myself Before Him," as well as three works about Bulgakov: the biography by Alexei Varlamov from the series ZhZL, the memoirs of Lyubov Belozerskaya, and the guide by Ekaterina Gorpinko "In the Footsteps of the Master and Margarita."
Since March 1, criminal liability for drug propaganda on the internet has been in effect in Russia. For the distribution of works mentioning prohibited substances without labeling, fines of up to 600,000 rubles are provided, with a maximum punishment of up to two years of imprisonment.
At the same time, the law does not consider works of literature and art as propaganda if drugs are a justified genre and an integral part of the artistic concept. However, those works that were published after August 1, 1990, are subject to mandatory labeling. This category includes the mentioned biographies.
