Today, April 21, at a meeting of the Duma commission, the situation with the "smart" sports ground in Novovyatsk, which belongs to sports school No. 8, was discussed. The Kirov administration reported that in 2026, funds amounting to 2.9 million rubles have been allocated for its repair. The contract has already been signed.
The work is expected to be completed around June. The contractor will replace the surface of the volleyball and basketball courts, which has bubbled up, and will level the football field, where there are depressions. The area around the mini-football field will also be put in order. The work will be carried out by an entrepreneur from Kirovo-Chepetsk, who has experience in constructing sports grounds.
As for the running track surface, which was laid upside down, the authorities will monitor how it performs over the next two years. If necessary, it will be updated in 2028.
The lawsuit with the first contractor is still ongoing. The authorities are trying to force him to pay about 20 million rubles. According to deputy Alexander Nikulin, a decision may be made by the end of May.
Nikulin also pointed out an unusual situation related to the oversight of the work on the sports ground. He reported that recently the sports minister allegedly assigned this task to... the former director of the ski complex. "Please take this seriously," he urged. "We have already amused people with the construction of the ground, now we will amuse them with the repairs. Is there really no one to oversee this?"
