A large family from Kirov Oblast received the Medal of the Order "Parental Glory".

The large family of Igor and Olesya Petruhin from Svechinsky District has been awarded the Medal of the Order "Parental Glory." The corresponding decree was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin, the press service of the government of Kirov Oblast reported.

The spouses have been together for 19 years — next year they will celebrate their porcelain wedding. Igor Petruhin serves as a priest at the St. Nicholas Church in the settlement of Svecha, and Olesya raises their eight children: four sons and four daughters. According to the children, love, respect and support always prevail in the Petruhin household.

The Petruhins actively participate in district life, helping to organize military-patriotic, sports and creative events. In 2023, thanks to their efforts, members of the Yunarmiya began taking part in regional amateur radio competitions, which revived the sport in the district.

The family also has an unusual shared hobby — filmmaking. Since 2009 the Petruhins have been involved with the local film studio "Svecha," making films and running workshops for schoolchildren.
