An expert-class video endoscopy system has been installed in the otolaryngology department of the Kirov Regional Clinical Hospital. It is used to perform minimally invasive surgeries in the nasal cavity and sinuses. They are carried out without external incisions, the Ministry of Health reported.
During such operations, doctors insert a thin endoscope into the nasal cavity and obtain a highly magnified image on a large screen. This helps to examine hard-to-reach sinuses in detail. With the system, it is possible to perform not just one but several necessary procedures at once.
