In Orichi, a school illegally charged extra fees for meals for the children of participants in the special military operation.

      The Prosecutor’s Office of the Orichevsky District of the Kirov Region conducted an inspection into the observance of the rights and lawful interests of the families of participants in the special military operation. The inspection found that one of the schools in the urban-type settlement of Orichi had committed violations in arranging meals for children entitled to free provision. According to the supervisory authority, funding for meals for minor children of participants in the special military operation in the region is provided from the regional budget. However, the school administration introduced an additional fee collected from parents. These funds covered the difference between the allocated and the actually spent amounts. The prosecutor’s office emphasized that the school principal should have initiated a request to increase budgetary funding to account for inflation, rather than shift the costs onto students’ families. Following the inspection, the prosecutor issued an official recommendation to the head of the institution. The violations of the law have been remedied.
