Car sales in Russia fell by almost a quarter.
The Russian car market continues to slump: from January–October 2025 about 1.2 million cars across all segments were sold in the country — 22% fewer than in the same period last year, Minister of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov said.
According to him, there is a decline in production volumes, but "it is far from critical": over the first ten months of 2025 Russian factories produced more than 677,000 cars, 12% fewer than a year earlier, the Kommersant newspaper reported.
At the same time, production at the "restarted foreign sites" has grown noticeably — almost 300,000 cars since the beginning of the year, which is 1.4 times higher than the figures for the first ten months of 2024. The minister noted that the market's decline is gradually slowing. In his assessment, June was the "lowest point" of sales in 2025.
