In Zuevka, two trees fell, damaging property and nearly maiming people.
Recall that yesterday there was another live broadcast by Governor Aleksandr Sokolov. Unfortunately, a significant portion of the airtime was taken up by answers to so-called “softball” questions, so there weren’t that many real complaints to hear. And the answers to those complaints were practically identical — the governor instructed his subordinates to look into the matter and report back.
One such complaint came from Zuevka. A local woman, speaking in a tired voice, said she was dissatisfied with the administration’s actions. She said she had long been asking for the hazardous trees near her house to be cut down. But this had not been done. As a result, one fell, damaging her property — a shed, a fence, and so on. Soon a second fell — onto the fence and the vegetable garden. A third remains, and people are seriously worried that it might fall too. The woman added that they were very lucky, because one of the fallen trees struck a pedestrian path often used by elderly women and other local residents. If it had fallen a few hours later, people might have been injured or killed.
Sokolov ordered the administration’s leadership to cut down the tree within 24 hours and threatened a large-scale inspection if this was not done.
