The 100th anniversary of Grigory Bulatov's birth was celebrated in Slobodskoy.
On Sunday, memorial events were held in Slobodskoy dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Grigory Bulatov.
It should be recalled that this year, which was declared by the President of Russia the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland and marks the 80th anniversary of the Victory, a monument called the "Standard-Bearer of Victory" was erected in Slobodskoy. The ceremonial unveiling of the monument took place on June 22.
The initiative to install the monument came from the town's residents, veterans and the hero's descendants, and was supported by State Duma deputy Rakhim Azimov. He raised the necessary funds and organized the work on producing the monument.
Rakhim Azimov noted: "The residents of Slobodskoy continue to carefully preserve the memory of their hero and of the Great Victory. This monument is a tribute not only to Grigory Bulatov, but to all the soldiers who gave their lives for the Motherland, and an important step in preserving historical truth."
