Two charity drives to collect aid for homeless animals have concluded in Kirov. City residents collected a total of 140 kilograms of food, as well as blankets, mattresses, bowls and other necessary items. In the Oktyabrsky District they managed to collect more than 90 kilograms of grains and wet and dry food. These will be sent to the Wet Nose shelter and the cat foster home Cape of Good Hope. Parents and staff of kindergarten No. 143 "Iskorka" took an active part in the campaign. In the Leninsky District the "Caring for the Tailed Guest" campaign took place. Participants collected more than 50 kilograms of food, as well as warm items to insulate bedding and doghouses. All the aid was handed over to a dog shelter. A major contribution was made by the staff of kindergarten No. 102 together with the parents.
In October the fifth "Coin Week" campaign concluded, the Central Bank reported. During its run 250 tonnes of coins were returned to circulation. The total amount came to almost 245 million rubles. This is the best result since 2023, when the campaign was held for the first time.
Altogether, over five "Coin Weeks" Russians returned more than 215 million coins to circulation, totaling almost 956 million rubles. According to the Central Bank, the weight of all the small change handed in exceeded 962 tonnes. For comparison, the Bank of Russia's cash centre in Moscow issues that many coins to banks in an entire year.
