Cemeteries in Kirov are being cleared of "dead" trees.

This year, 9 million rubles have been allocated from the city budget for these purposes, the city administration reported. The contractor is currently working at the Petelinskoye Cemetery, where 120 hazardous trees have already been felled, and around 30 more are planned to be removed in the coming days.

Earlier, specialists from the municipal "Burial Services" identified about 500 trees posing a threat to visitors' safety during an inspection. Most of them have already been removed under the municipal contract.

"The contract provides not only for felling but also for the removal of felled trees. Branches are processed into wood chips on site, and trunks are taken to a special disposal site," the agency clarified.

Work is being carried out primarily along roads and pedestrian alleys. Dangerous trees have already been removed at the cemeteries in Makarye, Sosheny, Bakhte and at the Filey burial site.

In addition, specialists continue routine maintenance of the areas — removing fallen trees and promptly responding to residents' requests.
