River pollution in Demyanovo: Rosprirodnadzor sent materials to the prosecutor's office
Recall that recently residents of Demyanovo (Podosinovsky District) complained about severe pollution of the Yug River. According to them, large flakes of foam were floating on the surface, and the smell was so strong that it was difficult to stay nearby.
Shortly thereafter the regional ministry of environmental protection confirmed the pollution. It told Newsler.ru that the source was the discharge of sewage wastewater carried out by the limited liability company "Good Water", which collects and treats wastewater from the residents and businesses of the settlement of Demyanovo. However, the ministry did not have the authority to take further measures. The inspection materials were forwarded to Rosprirodnadzor, which is responsible both for the enterprise and for the water body.
Recently the ministry of ecology reported that it had learned from Rosprirodnadzor’s office: "According to the information received by the ministry, the office confirmed the fact of pollution and sent the relevant materials to the prosecutor's office to coordinate an unscheduled inspection of LLC 'Good Water'. The taking of measures to hold the specified entity accountable also falls within the competence of federal authorities."
