Kirov Oblast ranked 31st in a ranking of rental housing affordability for families.
Based on a study covering the period from January to September, the Russian regions with the most and least affordable rental housing for families with two children were identified. The top three were the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug and Sakhalin Oblast.
Thus, in the Yamalo-Nenets Okrug, which posted the highest result, 76.4% of families can afford to rent an apartment. For comfortable living a family of four requires a monthly income of 175.2 thousand rubles.
Kirov Oblast ranked 31st in this rating. According to the study, just over half of families (52.6%) in the region have the financial ability to rent housing. For this the total family income must be at least 91.3 thousand rubles per month.
For comparison, neighboring regions and territories with similar economic situations showed the following results: Tatarstan (6th place): 62.2% of families can rent housing with a required income from 97.8 thousand rubles; Perm Krai (17th place): share of families — 57.8%, required income — 105 thousand rubles; and Udmurtia (21st place): renting is available to 55% of families, and the required budget starts from 98.2 thousand rubles, reports the udm-info.ru portal.
Thus, despite a lower threshold of required income compared with its neighbors, Kirov Oblast demonstrates one of the lowest shares of families able to afford rental housing, which determined its position in the ranking.
