Women in the Volga Federal District undervalue themselves.
According to the hh.ru platform, about 590.4 thousand resumes in the field of senior and middle management were posted in Russia over the past three months. Of these, 36% are resumes by women, 64% by men. In the regions of the Volga Federal District, the statistics are close to the nationwide figures, except for the Republic of Mari El, where women account for 43% of resumes.
Women's salary expectations are noticeably lower than men's: the median salary in women's resumes nationwide is 131.9 thousand rubles, while for men it is 171.9 thousand rubles. In the Volga Federal District, the median expectations for women are about 100 thousand rubles, and for men 149.3 thousand rubles. The largest gap is observed in Bashkortostan — 70 thousand rubles — and the smallest in the Kirov Region, where women expect an income only 15.3 thousand rubles lower than men.
Despite the gap in expectations, employers actively invite women to interviews. For example, in Bashkortostan one woman's resume receives 1.8 invitations, while a man's resume receives 1.6; in Chuvashia women receive two invitations per resume, men 1.5.
Experts note that modern women find it easier to combine career and family thanks to flexible schedules, remote work and opportunities for further education. Re-entering the workforce after maternity leave becomes easier if a company has a supportive system in place and if the woman knows how to strategically allocate household and professional tasks.
The main recommendations for women's career growth include:
clearly assessing their abilities and asserting them;
systematizing and prioritizing tasks;
not being afraid to take responsibility and participate in complex projects;
using external help and delegating household tasks to maintain effectiveness and balance.
According to specialists, women in the Volga Federal District are capable of holding high positions and successfully developing their careers if they confidently assess their skills, learn to manage their time and actively apply leadership strategies both at work and in their personal lives.
Most residents of Kirov have already decided when they will go on vacation in 2026. Almost a third of Kirov residents plan to work during their retirement. The number of remote job vacancies in the Kirov Region has decreased.
