      The Kirov Interdistrict Environmental Protection Prosecutor’s Office conducted an inspection of compliance with environmental legislation in the Nemsky municipal district. The inspection was prompted by residents’ complaints about an unauthorized municipal waste disposal site that local authorities had failed to clean up for a long time.

      It was found that the dump occupies about 2,000 square meters and poses a threat to people’s health, as well as harming the environment and the natural landscape.

      The environmental protection prosecutor filed a submission with the head of the municipal district demanding that the violations be remedied. In response, the administration signed a contract with a contractor to clean up the dump, allocating more than 200,000 rubles from the budget.

      As a result, the dump was completely removed and the violations of environmental legislation were eliminated.
