A woman from Kirov lost more than 500,000 rubles after trusting a man she met on a dating app.

As the police reported, a woman from Kirov met a man on a dating app who introduced himself as a successful trader. He assured her that he earned large sums on the stock market and offered the help of his "analyst friend." The woman followed the link he sent and began communicating with the so‑called curator, who explained in detail how to "invest" and quickly make a profit.

Following the instructions of the "financial expert," the woman from Kirov invested an initial 23,000 rubles. When the scammers were convinced the victim was trusting, they suggested investing more — "so that the income would grow." At the suggestion to "take out a loan, since everything will quickly pay off," the woman agreed and took out a car loan for 580,000 rubles. She sent this money in several transfers to the number she was given.

A week later the "income" still had not appeared. An attempt to withdraw the invested funds was unsuccessful — the system produced an error. The woman then turned to her curator, but instead of help he suggested drawing up a power of attorney in favor of a third party, and after she refused he began to be rude. Only then did the woman from Kirov realize she had fallen into the hands of scammers and contact the police.

A criminal case has been opened in connection with the incident; the investigation is ongoing.
