The prosecutor's office found violations in the operation of the complex where Kirov residents were poisoned by chlorine fumes.

Recall that on August 25 in Kirov a serious incident occurred: several visitors to the thermal wellness complex complained of feeling unwell. Five people, including two children, were poisoned by chlorine fumes.

As previously reported by Dmitry Kurdyumov, First Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Kirov Region, doctors promptly provided assistance to the visitors. No serious health problems were recorded.

Preliminary investigation authorities did not find signs of a crime under Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (provision of services that do not meet safety requirements). The initiation of a criminal case was denied. At the same time, the Prosecutor’s Office of the Leninsky District of Kirov identified violations of sanitary and epidemiological legislation, inadequate control and logkeeping of monitoring the water quality, residual chlorine content and pH level. This resulted in a violation of citizens’ rights, including those of children, to the protection of health.

The prosecutor submitted a formal notice. Control over the quality of services by the complex’s management has now been strengthened.

Recall that we previously reported that Rospotrebnadzor inspected the water and air at “More Park,” where the incident occurred. Read the details here.
