
Convicts are helping to restore an 18th-century church in Kirov Oblast.
According to the press service of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Kirov Region, inmates helped unload more than a ton of construction materials needed for the continued restoration of the building. The rector of the church, Archpriest Andrey Kryazhevskikh, and local residents thanked the participants for their diligence and responsible attitude to their work.
The agency notes that the voluntary participation of convicts in the restoration of the church is an example of socially significant activity combining labor rehabilitation and engagement with spiritual values.
