Kremlev: due to the renaming of streets, residents could not pay for the building's major repairs.
Today at a meeting of the Kirov City Duma, deputy Mikhail Kremlev spoke. He said that recently the building manager from the former Rosa Luxemburg Street (now Morozovskaya) contacted him. He reported that the building had previously opened a special account to collect funds for major repairs, but for a long time it was not possible to pay for the repairs. The bank repeatedly returned the payment due to inconsistent information. They were unable to resolve the issue in Kirov. A month later the building manager contacted the bank's management in the Volga Federal District. Only after that were they able to pay for the work.
Kremlev added that the city's residents — at least those who reached out to him — still have not accepted the renaming of the streets and are opposed to it. "There is a flood of negative comments," the deputy said. "We are getting calls, letters, people are coming. Residents can't find anything or get their bearings. Maybe we should revisit this decision? I propose considering the possibility of cancelling it. People's main complaint is not even about the names themselves, but that their opinion was not heard."
