The best gas-rescue workers were identified at the KCHHK branch.

The competition consisted of seven stages. The first was a self-presentation on the theme “I am proud of my profession.” Participants spoke about the work of a gas-rescue worker in the form of presentations, videos, poems, and essays. The next section was devoted to testing theoretical knowledge. Then came the practical stages. Gas-rescue workers demonstrated their skills in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation on a manikin system, tying knots and assembling block-and-tackle systems, as well as timed donning of protective suits and breathing apparatus and practiced the scenario of evacuating a casualty from a tank. The final stage was completing the physical fitness tests.

The participants demonstrated a high level of skill. As a result of the contest, Dmitry Lyamin was the winner, Sergei Ashikhmin took second place, and Maksim Kulyabin finished third. The prize-winners were awarded diplomas, gifts, and cash prizes.

Andrey Mikheev, head of the occupational safety, industrial safety, civil defense and emergency response service of the KCHHK branch of JSC OHK Uralchem:

“Every year we try to introduce changes to the competition program. This time the testing was conducted electronically using materials developed by the training and consultation center for emergency rescue units in the city of Novomoskovsk. The competition provides an opportunity to demonstrate one’s professionalism and to assess not only one’s strengths but also the areas that still need work.”
