Russians will lose access to some imported cars from four countries.
This will hit the import of cars from neighboring countries — Belarus, Korea, Georgia and Kyrgyzstan — the hardest. Gazeta.Ru reports this, citing Anton Ganzha, head of the automotive platform Pango Cars. According to him, in these countries the share of cars with more than 160 hp exceeds 80%, so supplies will practically stop. “Imports from the UAE and China will be partially maintained due to simpler versions, and right-hand-drive cars from Japan will hardly notice any changes — there powerful cars make up only 10%,” the expert noted. Premium brands (BMW, Mercedes‑Benz) will see the largest price increases, as will the Geely Monjaro crossover, popular in parallel imports. Right-hand-drive Toyotas, Nissans and other brands with models up to 160 hp will remain less vulnerable. Ganzha warned that until November 1 there may be a surge in transactions on the market — Russians will try to buy and import cars under the old conditions in time.
