      According to the bill, the conscription of citizens for military service will be carried out pursuant to a decree of the President of the Russian Federation throughout the entire calendar year — from January 1 to December 31. Currently conscription is limited to two periods: from April 1 to July 15 and from October 1 to December 31.

      At the same time, the procedure for sending recruits to their places of service remains the same — twice a year, in spring and autumn. Specific dispatch dates are established for certain categories of citizens.

      The amendments are expected to come into force on January 1, 2026.
