
Mishustin approved the schedule of public holidays and days off for 2026.
On September 24, 2025, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed decree No. 1466 on the transfer of days off in 2026, the government press service reports.
In the new year, January 3 and 4 fall on Saturday and Sunday. Since these dates are public holidays, they were decided to be moved to Friday, January 9, and Thursday, December 31.
Thus, in 2026 citizens will have the following periods of rest:
from December 31, 2025 to January 11, 2026 (12 days),
from February 21 to 23 (3 days),
from March 7 to 9 (3 days),
from May 1 to 3 and from May 9 to 11 (3 days each),
from June 12 to 14 (3 days),
November 4,
December 31.
Earlier the Ministry of Labor presented a draft schedule of days off; it has now been approved by the government.
