Sokolov on the school in Lyangasovo: "If there is a threat to life and health, it must be closed."
Today Alexander Sokolov reported that an appeal from the parents of the school in Lyangasovo had reached his channel. "I know they've started looking into it," he said. "Yesterday I gave instructions."
The governor also sharply criticized the work of Kirov's head of administration, Vyacheslav Simakov: "Your negligent municipal education department cannot properly prepare the documentation to receive federal funds. It hasn't been able to for two years! As a result, parents and children suffer."
Sokolov ordered representatives of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Construction to urgently go to the site, bringing experts who are familiar with the condition of buildings, and assess it. "If the school, God forbid, threatens life and health, measures must be taken immediately to close it and relocate the children to other places. Report back on this by the end of the week. If it's merely run-down — that's another matter; then report when it can be repaired. Children are certainly not to blame for officials' negligence."
