Rosreestr warned about a new wave of scammers posing as agency employees.

Rosreestr reports a new surge in fraudulent activity. Scammers are calling, emailing and messaging, claiming that transactions are being carried out with citizens’ property — sale, mortgage or seizure. Their goal is to cause panic and compel the person to immediately contact the “support service” at the phone number provided.

“It is important to remember that Rosreestr does not contact citizens via SMS, messengers or email with offers to follow links or to call back. Genuine communications concern only informational notifications about the progress of a service or requests to clarify data,” said Deputy Head of the agency Maxim Smirnov.

To protect against scammers Rosreestr recommends:

Check the sender’s domain. Official letters come only from @rosreestr.ru; messages from free email services or with typos in the domain are fraudulent.

Do not open suspicious attachments, especially executable files (*.exe, *.bat, *.scr and others).

Delete suspicious messages and empty the “Deleted” folder.

Do not call back the numbers provided; verify information only through the official telephone numbers on the website.

If you receive suspicious messages, the agency asks citizens to report them to law enforcement.
