The organizers of the event say that the aim of the record is to draw attention to the features of Vyatka cuisine and to showcase the region’s gastronomic heritage. Local restaurants, cafés and food producers, including farmers, bakeries and cheesemakers, will be involved in preparing the sandwich. Alexey Cheptsov, director of the Kirov Region Tourism Development Center, noted that the festival and the attempt to set the record reflect the region’s cultural traditions and are supported by the national projects “Efficient and Competitive Economy” and “Tourism and Hospitality.” Last year, as part of the gastronomic festival on Spasskaya, a giant vatrushka and a seven-meter shawarma were prepared, as well as a 65-centimeter croissant.
