Blinovskaya may be released by the end of the year.

By the end of 2025, the well-known blogger and "queen of marathons" Elena Blinovskaya may be released, Gazeta.ru reports. The publication says that Blinovskaya remains in a pre-trial detention center and her lawyers intend to extend the "queen of marathons'" stay in the facility, since one day spent there is counted as one and a half days in a penal colony. Blinovskaya's defenders have tried to file appeals five times. Currently the blogger's lawyers plan to arrange her employment in the detention center's maintenance unit, where inmates perform various jobs for which they receive work credits and pay, and, most importantly, substantially shorten their prison terms. For Blinovskaya to be employed in the detention center, her consent and the decision of the head of the facility are required.

If Blinovskaya begins working in the detention center's maintenance unit, by the end of the year she may be eligible for conditional early release (parole) and could be free by the New Year.

Recall that we previously wrote that blogger Elena Blinovskaya is likely to serve her sentence in Women's Colony No. 1 in the Vladimir Region, where former Defense Ministry official Evgenia Vasilyeva previously served a sentence.

On March 3, 2025, the Savelovsky District Court of Moscow delivered a verdict against Elena Blinovskaya, a native of Kirov Oblast: she was sentenced to five years of imprisonment. In addition, the blogger was fined 1 million rubles and banned from engaging in commercial activities for five years.

Recall that Elena Blinovskaya was charged with tax evasion (Part 2 of Article 198 of the Criminal Code), money laundering (subparagraph "b" of Part 4 of Article 174.1 of the Criminal Code), and unlawful turnover of payment instruments (Part 1 of Article 187 of the Criminal Code). It is known that the court released Blinovskaya from punishment on one of the counts due to the expiration of the statute of limitations (Part 2 of Article 198 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, "Evasion of an individual from paying taxes"). The court also recovered 587 million rubles from Blinovskaya and confiscated the blogger's assets in favor of the state.

The investigation found that Blinovskaya fragmented her business and distributed income from the sale of her courses and "wish marathons" among small companies and sole proprietors that operated under the simplified tax system. All this allowed her to evade paying taxes in the amount of 906 million rubles. Later Blinovskaya admitted guilt in tax evasion and money laundering, but stressed that she was not aware that the business had been fragmented, which led to the tax debt.

Elena Blinovskaya was detained in April 2023 when she attempted to leave Russia bound for Minsk.
