
The number of regions in Russia with an average salary above 100,000 rubles has increased.
The updated list included Moscow, Amur, Irkutsk and Arkhangelsk oblasts, Krasnoyarsk, Zabaykalsky and Primorsky krais, as well as the Komi Republic.
The highest incomes are recorded in the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug — 220.9 thousand rubles, the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug — 183.6 thousand rubles, and Magadan Oblast — 178.7 thousand rubles.
According to the agency, the rise in salaries is linked to a personnel shortage: competition in the labor market is forcing employers to raise pay. At the same time, the lowest average incomes are observed in Ingushetia (47.8 thousand rubles), Chechnya (51.9 thousand rubles) and Dagestan (56.6 thousand rubles).
According to VCIOM data published on August 18, Russians believe that to live a "happy life" one needs to earn on average almost 227 thousand rubles per month. This figure has nearly doubled over eight years: in 2017, 109 thousand rubles was sufficient.
