In the Kirov Region, discussion continues about the possible introduction of a tourist tax. The issue was discussed at a meeting of the regional government with representatives of the hotel industry, sanatoria and the tourism sector.
As a result, it was decided to form a working group that will include representatives of the professional community. They will thoroughly study the questions of developing the hospitality industry, including the use of funds from the tourist tax for local improvements and the creation of tourism infrastructure.
According to the government, federal legislation allows regions to independently decide whether to introduce such a levy. At the same time, businesses and authorities stress the need to strike a balance between additional budget revenues and preserving the competitiveness of the region's tourist sites.
