In Russia, the rules for issuing sick leave certificates have changed.
Now the Ministry of Health will more closely monitor citizens who frequently take sick leave, reports Komsomolskaya Pravda.
Under the changes, if a person has taken sick leave four times or more within six months (except in cases of caring for relatives, rehabilitation, or treatment of socially significant diseases), a sick leave certificate is issued for only three days.
Further extension is possible only by decision of a medical commission. Previously there were no limits on the number of sick leaves: a physician could issue them for up to 15 days, a dentist or feldsher — up to 10 days. Extensions were decided by a commission or the head of the department, if they had the appropriate authority.
