In January of this year a 17-year-old adolescent, being a drug user, while in the apartment of one of the houses on Vesenniy Lane in the town of Omutninsk, personally handed an acquaintance a narcotic substance in an amount of at least 1.59 grams as payment for temporarily being provided with accommodation.
The Omutninsk Interdistrict Investigative Department of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Kirov Region collected evidence sufficient to find the adolescent guilty of committing the crime provided for in subparagraph “g” of part 4 of Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (distribution of narcotic drugs in a large amount). The criminal case was sent to court for trial on the merits.
By the court’s verdict the teenager was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment to be served in a juvenile correctional colony.
