The deputies of the Legislative Assembly approved in the first reading a bill to introduce additional restrictions on smoking tobacco and the consumption of nicotine-containing products. The initiative was prepared by members of the Youth Parliament.
According to the document, it is proposed to ban smoking in Kirov Region at bus stops and within 15 meters of them, in underground and enclosed overhead crossings, as well as within the territory of mass events. The new measures aim to protect citizens' health from the effects of tobacco smoke.
If the law is finally adopted, the restrictions will come into effect after the implementation of the corresponding liability measures. Amendments may be made before the second reading.
