Kirov residents filed complaints with the FAS against "Russian Post."
The Kirov Department of the Federal Antimonopoly Service issued a warning to Russian Post regarding the inadmissibility of refusing to accept letters from senders of all types and imposing the service of first-class mailing. As reported by the agency, complaints from residents of Kirov have started to arrive, stating that employees of Kirov branches of Russian Post refuse customers to register letters through operator windows. Instead, customers are coerced into independently registering correspondence via the Post's website or mobile app, or at self-service zones. If the customer refuses this method, they are offered to send letters at higher first-class rates. The FAS noted that Russian Post did not confirm the legality of refusing to accept registered letters through operator windows and the coercion of high-rate services. As a result, the FAS identified a violation of antimonopoly legislation in the actions of Russian Post. A warning was issued to Russian Post to cease the "refusals and coercion" within one month. If the warning is not followed, an administrative case for violation of antimonopoly laws will be initiated against Russian Post.
