"Inflation 'for the poor' has almost caught up with the national average."
Experts note that the slowdown in the growth rate of prices for the "poor basket" can be considered a positive signal. However, the situation may worsen in July due to an increase in utility tariffs, which constitute a significant portion of this social group's expenses. There is also a continued lag of real pensions behind last year's level despite indexation. CMACAP analysts report a decline in consumer spending in June, including on food and non-food products as well as services. A particularly sharp decrease is observed in the automobile segment — the center estimates that the passenger car industry has entered a serious crisis zone. Nevertheless, SberIndex data indicates a recovery in consumption growth in July: from the 14th to the 20th, the annual growth rate was 9.9%, with a real increase of 0.5%. Spending on consumer goods and services increased, while expenses on food slightly decreased, according to Kommersant.
