Oleg Valenchuk: My deepest respect to the residents of Burmakino for their love for their homeland!
The history of this settlement dates back 415 years, and it is filled with many interesting stories. For example, the unique landmark of Burmakino is the centuries-old cedars. These majestic trees are not just decorations of the village, but living symbols of its history and resilience. The first trees were planted by Ivan Mashkovtsev in 1725 in the neighboring village of Mashkovtsevy. Ivan's story is one of courage and entrepreneurship. Blinded by smallpox, he found his way to a better future by planting cedar nuts brought by his father. Years later, he earned a living selling nuts. Today, only six of the original seventeen cedars remain, but their descendants continue to delight the eye and serve as a reminder of the spirit and perseverance of ancestors. The residents of Burmakino carefully continue this tradition, planting new cedars in honor of their history.
On Village Day, a festive atmosphere prevailed everywhere. Participants from the cultural centers "Yantar" and "Burmakinsky" prepared a lively program: songs and spirited dances that moved everyone. All willing could demonstrate good physical shape and strong spirit through sports activities and passing GTO standards. Across the road, on the volleyball court, 16 men's and women's pairs competed in beach volleyball.
Deputy of the State Duma Oleg Valenchuk congratulated the residents and guests of Burmakino on the holiday.
– I deeply thank the villagers for their love and responsible attitude towards their small homeland, – said Oleg Valenchuk. – 415 years is just the beginning of a new, even brighter and more successful stage in the life of this wonderful village. May the Burmakino cedars continue to grow and strengthen, just like the village itself, filling its life with strength, beauty, and unwavering love for the native land.
Certificates of appreciation and memorable gifts from the State Duma deputy were presented to active residents for their significant contributions to the social and cultural life and improvement of Burmakino. Among them were village elder Svetlana Mokrushina, settlement elder Nikolay Protopopov, the director of the secondary school in Burmakino Elena Kashina, and paramedic Ekaterina Blinova from Dresvyano. The director of the Burmakino House of Culture, Irena Ostruk, was also handed a music speaker with microphones by Oleg Valenchuk’s assistants.
The highlight of the celebration was the opening of a new art installation, "I Love Burmakino." The day concluded with a festive open-air disco, where residents and guests could relax and dance until late in the evening.
