Butina proposed the president of VyatSU for the new Expert Council of the State Duma

Butina proposed the president of VyatSU for the new Expert Council of the State Duma

An Expert Council will be established at the Committee on International Affairs of the State Duma of Russia — this decision was made today at an expanded meeting. The council will focus on analyzing and preparing proposals on key issues of the country's foreign policy and parliamentary diplomacy.

The new body will include leading scientists, experts, educators, and media representatives. The council will be headed by Fyodor Lukyanov, Director for Scientific Work at the Valdai International Discussion Club.

Valery Jungblud, President of VyaTU and Doctor of Historical Sciences, will represent Kirov Region in the federal pool. His candidacy was proposed by State Duma Deputy from Kirov Region Maria Butina.

      — Just look at the composition of the Expert Council under the Committee on International Affairs to see how serious a pool Slyutsky is gathering: the council includes top personnel from key Russian universities such as MSU, MGIMO, the Diplomatic Academy, RUDN, with doctors and candidates of sciences under the leadership of Fyodor Lukyanov, and the Valdai Club, — Butina commented. — The region is only represented by Kirov Region and Valery Jungblud. Although VyaTU no longer has a specialty in "International Relations," the university president will work with colleagues on the national strategy for Russia’s international policy and has approval to attend all meetings of the State Duma’s Committee on International Affairs. I am glad that Slyutsky, among the best chosen for the council, included Jungblud. There were no objections, and it’s clear why.

In the near future, the council will start forming working groups and developing recommendations on relevant foreign policy issues of the country.
