Today, the deputies adopted in two readings the draft law "On the implementation of activities in the field of probation in the Kirov region." It was brought in by the staff of the regional prosecutor's office.
In a nutshell, the draft law talks about various measures aimed at helping ex-convicts adapt to society, reconnect and find employment. In addition, it mentions partial reimbursement to employers of the labor costs of former prisoners.
The amendment proposed by the governor also proposes to establish subsidies for companies if they hire former prisoners within a year after their release from the colonies. The amount in question, how and when this money will be paid, will be determined later by the regional government.
