Previously, one parent could pay a tax of 50% of the established rate on one vehicle of their choice, provided that children are under 18 years old, the average per capita family income is below the subsistence level and there are engine power restrictions. Now, a 50% discount will also be provided if the eldest child in the family continues full-time education at the age of 23. The requirement for a low per capita family income is also excluded. In addition, the maximum capacity of a passenger car for which you can get a benefit has been increased from 150 to 200 horsepower.

      Another important change concerns owners of vehicles powered by natural gas. In 2023, benefits were introduced for them for the period from 2023 to 2025: a full tax exemption for passenger cars with a capacity of up to 110 horsepower and a 50 percent discount for cars and trucks with a capacity of 110 to 150 horsepower. The law extends these tax preferences for another three years (from 2026 to 2028).
