Anniversary of the Great Victory through the eyes of children
The competition, organized on the initiative of the chairman of the festival, State Duma deputy Oleg Valenchuk, received more than 700 works from all over the Kirov region from children of all ages – from preschoolers to art school students.
The contest has become not just a competition, but a real bridge between generations. The children showed their understanding of the tragedy and greatness of the feat through the prism of family stories and stories. It's surprisingly touching: each drawing is not just a picture, but a fragment of life passed through children's perception.
The works are striking in their variety of techniques and subjects. Watercolor sketches compete with bright pencil sketches full of dynamics. Real art canvases depicting scenes of military operations, peaceful workers in the rear and the long-awaited meeting of the winners. There are also many portraits of veteran grandfathers and great–grandfathers, whose life stories have become an inspiration for young artists.
"From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank the guys for participating in the contest, which is dedicated to the great holiday – Victory Day, as well as teachers and parents for supporting children," Oleg Valenchuk notes. – The competition proved that the formation of a respectful attitude towards the history of one's country can and should begin from early childhood, and art plays an extremely important role in this. Our children are very talented, and from their drawings we can see how important the theme of the Great Patriotic War is to them, with what love they created their works.
These stories will become an integral part of the exhibition, which will be organized in the near future. In the meantime, everyone can get acquainted with the works of the winners in the official group of the festival "Greenland" on Vkontakte.
