      In 2024, surgeons at Kirov Clinical Hospital No. 7 performed 17 operations for longitudinal sleeve resection of the stomach. This area is known as bariatric surgery and is used to treat obesity when other methods no longer help.

      In just one year, more than 700 operations were performed in the surgical department of the hospital. The volume of work increased by 4% compared to the previous year. Doctors perform interventions on the abdominal organs, thyroid gland, bone system and blood vessels, treat purulent inflammations and complicated forms of diabetic foot. The department also remains the leading provider of thyroid surgeries — 66 were performed in 2024, and without a single complication.
