About the Motherland, its defenders, love and beauty: the Day of National Cultures was held in Vyatka with great success

On May 28, Vyatka State University hosted the Day of National Cultures, organized by the Faculty of International Education.

"This event has become a tradition at Vyatka State University. It is largely final, summative in nature, demonstrating what our students have learned during the year.

National Cultures Day 2025 is dedicated to the Year of Defender of the Fatherland, which is taking place in the Russian Federation. The students will talk about the heroes of Russia, as well as about the outstanding people of their countries. International students really want to present their cultures. Their interest in the holiday became so great, there were so many rooms that we had to shorten the program, but it still turned out to be extensive and intense," Irina Merkulova, Dean of the Faculty of International Education at Vyatka State University, said before the event.Sergey Fomin, Vice Rector for International Affairs at Vyatka State University, greeted the participants.

"The Day of National Cultures is a day of unification," he said.

      Sergey Valerievich admonished foreign students:

"Do not forget about your roots. But at the same time, enjoy the specifics of Russia that you feel every day: Russian culture, Russian music, and communication with people."

A series of interesting presentations were held in front of the audience on Russia, Sudan, Pakistan, Mauritania, Syria, China, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Angola, Mali, Gabon, Eritrea, and Senegal. The students talked about historical figures, outstanding military leaders, scientists, writers, artists, and athletes.

There were many poems in different languages. Russian Russian students showed a high level of proficiency by reading the poems "Don't forget about the War," "Do Russians want war?", "Wherever you go, wherever you go," and "Let's bow to the great years." In continuation of the theme of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, Ali Idris Badraltham Ibrahim performed the immortal "Katusha".

Icon Adrienne Molinga performed a poem of her own composition, "I am a child of the Congo."A group of a cappella students performed "Hallelujah" to great applause.

Anthems from different countries were played.

When Nguema Nguema Ivan and Nze Anguili Christ from Gabon took the stage, the hall literally exploded: "Belle", the recognized masterpiece of the musical "Notre Dame de Paris", perfectly suited the powerful vocals of the duo.

More than thirty concert numbers were finalized by the incendiary "Waka-waka" - sang and everyone danced!

The final part of the event was the awarding of the best students with FMO Gold medals and letters of thanks. Many warm words were also addressed to the teachers.

The party was a success! Each participant will keep warm memories of him and, of course, a shared photo as a keepsake.
