The court ordered the hunters to pay 640 thousand rubles for the killed moose

The incident that led to the court proceedings occurred in November 2024. At that time, two men were convicted of illegally harvesting four moose in the hunting grounds of the Sanchur district. By the initial court decision, each of them was fined 250 thousand rubles. In addition, both were deprived of the right to hunt for two years. A double-barrelled shotgun was also confiscated from one of the convicts for state revenue.

The total amount of damage caused to wildlife by the actions of poachers amounted to 960 thousand rubles. However, the convicted hunters voluntarily reimbursed only a part of this amount (320 thousand rubles). To recover the remaining part of the damage, amounting to 640 thousand rubles, the regional Ministry of Environmental Protection filed a lawsuit in court.

The Court reviewed the submitted materials and fully satisfied the requirements of the Ministry. Now hunters are obliged to pay the missing 640 thousand rubles. After recovery, this money will be transferred to the budget of the Sanchur district. They are planned to be used to finance environmental protection measures.
