A resident of Kirov sold a car at the behest of fraudsters and lost 800 thousand rubles.

A 63-year-old resident of Kirov became a victim of fraud. According to police, the man sold the car and transferred the proceeds to an account dictated by an unknown person who introduced himself as an employee of the Central Bank.

According to the victim, a few days ago a man contacted him via messenger. He said that his crossover was allegedly seized due to the actions of third parties, and now it is impossible to use the car or sell it. In order to "remove the restrictions," the Kirov resident was offered to conduct a fictitious transaction — to sell a car and send the funds received to a so-called "secure account."

The man followed all the instructions: he sold the car at a reduced price and transferred 800 thousand rubles using the banking details dictated by the false employee. After that, the connection with him was cut off, and the victim had no car or money left.

The police have opened a criminal case. A search is underway for intruders.

Law enforcement agencies remind you that real government employees do not contact citizens through messengers and do not ask for money transfers. If you are offered such actions, it is a sign of fraud. Verify the authenticity of the information and contact the police if in any doubt.
