The Prosecutor's office and the Ombudsman checked the conditions of detention in the women's colony in Kotelnich

      Recently, the Kirov Prosecutor for the Supervision of Law Enforcement in Correctional Institutions, Vadim Dolgikh, together with the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Kirov region, Alexander Panov, conducted a routine inspection in correctional colony No. 33, located in the city of Kotelnich.

      IK-33 is a general regime penal colony designed to hold convicted women. During the visit, representatives of the supervisory authorities conducted a tour of the institution's territory, examined residential and office premises — dormitories, isolation wards, a canteen, and a medical unit. In addition, they organized a personal reception for the convicts.

      All appeals received from prisoners during the reception were reviewed and the norms of current legislation were clarified. We also checked the catering, logistics and utilities.

      Following the results of the visit, analytical material will be generated, which will be used by the prosecutor's office in its supervisory activities. Representatives of the supervisory and human rights structures noted that interaction with the public and further inspections will continue.
