Two people died in a fire in Kirov
Today, on April 12, at 11:15 a.m. in Kirov, a report was received about a fire in an apartment on the second floor of a five-story apartment building on Gorky Street. 26 employees and 6 pieces of equipment of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations were sent to the scene of the incident.
When the fire was extinguished, two people were found in the apartment: an unconscious man and a woman, who, unfortunately, died. The rescued man was handed over to medical workers, however, despite the efforts of doctors, he died during intensive care.
Firefighters also rescued a man from a 4th-floor balcony using a retractable ladder, as he could not evacuate due to heavy smoke. During the operation, 8 more residents were taken out of the entrance.
The fire was extinguished on an area of 20 m2. The causes and circumstances of the incident are now being investigated by investigators from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations and specialists from the Investigative Committee.
