In Yurye, a drunken vandal doused Lenin with green paint
In the Kirov region, employees of the inter-municipal department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia "Yuryansky" uncovered an act of vandalism committed on one of the central streets of the village of Yurya. During the investigation, it turned out that the vandal had damaged the monument to Lenin by spraying it with paint.
Law enforcement officers studied the recordings from the surveillance cameras that recorded the crime. Police officers soon identified the suspect as a 62-year-old local resident. The man confessed that he had committed an illegal act while intoxicated.
A criminal case has been opened on this fact under Article 214 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Vandalism". The suspect has already been questioned, and the investigation is ongoing. The monument is currently undergoing restoration.
